5 Best Apify Alternatives in 2026

Apify is a marketplace and runtime for web scrapers built by third-party developers. Here is the shortlist worth your time, compared on verified pricing, coverage, and the catch each vendor’s own page will not tell you.

The best Apify alternative depends on how much you want to run yourself. 1Lookup replaces social actors with finished endpoints and a fixed JSON shape. Bright Data covers collection at enterprise scale, and Modash or HypeAuditor make sense if the scraping was only ever a means to creator data.

Disclosure: this site is built by 1Lookup. It appears on this list where it genuinely fits, and we say plainly when a competitor is the better choice.

Why teams look beyond Apify

  • Two-layer pricing: Actor fees draw from a platform subscription's prepaid usage ($29-$999/mo tiers), and unused prepaid usage expires at the end of each billing cycle with no rollover
  • Per-Actor pricing varies: each scraper is priced by its developer (often a third party), so the per-1,000-result rate differs by platform, Actor and plan tier ($2.70/1k for Instagram on Free vs $1.50/1k on Business), and covering profiles, posts, transcripts and ads across networks means integrating multiple separately priced Actors with different input/output schemas
  • It is scraping infrastructure, not a normalized lookup API: results arrive as datasets from asynchronous Actor runs rather than a single synchronous per-lookup response, and engineering time is needed to wire runs, storage and schemas into an application
  • Reliability depends on the target site and the individual Actor: the TikTok Scraper reports a 93.1% run success rate (vs 99.8% for Instagram), and concurrent runs are capped at 25 on Free and 32 on Starter

These are factual scope and pricing characteristics, not knocks; Apify remains the right tool for the buyers described in the verdict section below.

The shortlist, in order

1Lookup logo1. 1LookupOur product

Best for replacing social actors with a managed endpoint

Pick 1Lookup when you want social profile, post, transcript, search and ad-library data as documented API responses, with nothing to configure, monitor or repair when a platform changes.

Starting price
$99/mo for 20,000 credits ($4.95 per 1,000, down to $2.00 on Enterprise)
Free option
Free single lookups via the online tools at 1lookup.io/tools, no account required
The catch
Younger brand with a smaller public review footprint than long-established incumbents

Bright Data logo2. Bright Data

Best for web-data collection at genuine enterprise scale

Pick Bright Data when you are collecting at high volume across many non-social targets, need proxy and unlocking control, or want datasets delivered into your own warehouse on a schedule.

Starting price
$1.50 per 1,000 records pay-as-you-go on the Web Scraper API (no subscription; ~$15 for 10,000 records). First published subscription tier is Scale at $499/mo with 384,000 records included. Dataset marketplace purchases start at a $250 minimum order.
Free option
5,000 Web Scraper API records/month free, no credit card required; the TikTok scraper page states the free allowance renews monthly on the 1st. Free data samples available before dataset marketplace purchases.
The catch
Raw scraping infrastructure, not a verification or enrichment API: it returns scraped social records but offers no email, phone, or IP validation channels, so contact-data checking needs a separate tool

Modash logo3. Modash

Best for discovering creators you have never heard of

Pick Modash when the job is search: filtering a large indexed creator set by audience and performance criteria to build a shortlist from nothing.

Starting price
SaaS platform: $199/month (Essentials, shown reduced from $299) for 2 seats, 300 profile opens and 150 email unlocks a month. The APIs are priced separately and are not included: Raw API starts at $10,000/year for 40,000 requests/month ($0.02 per request); Discovery API starts at $16,200/year for 3,000 credits/month ($0.45 per credit)
Free option
None
The catch
Covers three platforms: Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. Both the API product page and the docs state that scope

HypeAuditor logo4. HypeAuditor

Best full influencer marketing platform with fraud scoring built in

Pick HypeAuditor when you want discovery, a computed authenticity score, audience age and gender breakdowns, campaign management and reporting in one product rather than data you assemble yourself.

Starting price
$299/month for the Basic plan billed annually. This is the only price published on any HypeAuditor property and it appears on a blog post rather than the pricing page. No PRO or Enterprise price is published anywhere, and no API price is published at all
Free option
A free account with no card required: track 10 campaigns with 150 influencers, view market landscape, top quality accounts, top trending and most mentioned brands. Separately, 40+ free standalone tools including an engagement rate calculator, fake follower check and account auditor
The catch
The public pricing page publishes no prices: it shows request-demo and sign-up calls to action with no plan table, no tier names and no dollar figures

Phyllo logo5. Phyllo

Best for private creator metrics the account holder opts to share

Pick Phyllo when your creators will connect their own accounts and you need reach, impressions and audience data that no public page exposes.

Starting price
$399/month (Startup) for up to 2,000 monitored accounts across the Identity, Engagement, Audience and Comments APIs, with dedicated chat support
Free option
Free plan for up to 250 monitored accounts across the Identity, Engagement, Audience and Comments APIs, with a 6-business-hour support SLA. Their developer page states no credit card is required and API keys arrive in minutes
The catch
Pricing is per monitored account per month, not per call or per lookup, so there is no published per-request rate to compare against a usage-priced API

Migration effort

Map your actor's output fields to the new response shape before you switch anything, since field names and nesting will differ. Run both in parallel on a sample for a day and compare row for row. Keep the platform account if you scrape anything outside social; these are complements more often than replacements.

Apify alternatives FAQ

What is the best Apify alternative for social data?

1Lookup, if your targets are social profiles, posts, videos, searches or ad libraries: those become single endpoints with a fixed response shape and no actor to maintain. If you scrape a wider range of sites, Bright Data operates at that breadth, and no per-lookup social API will replace a general scraping platform.

Is there an Apify alternative with predictable pricing?

Marketplace pricing has two moving parts, the platform plan and each actor's own price set by its developer, which makes forecasting awkward. Per-lookup pricing is one rate per product with no charge for empty results. The verified table records what each vendor publishes.

What do I give up by moving off a scraping platform?

Configurability, and it is a real loss. A general-purpose actor can be pointed at almost any page and told exactly which fields to take. A managed endpoint returns a defined field set. If you need an unusual field or a non-social target, the platform is the more capable tool and it is worth keeping for that.

Who maintains the scraper when a platform changes?

On a marketplace, the actor's developer does, and how quickly depends on how active they are. On a managed endpoint the vendor does, before you notice. That difference is most of what you are paying for when you move from one to the other.

Test the all-in-one option first

1Lookup’s 7-day free trial includes $20 of credits across phone, email, and IP validation. Run your own numbers before you decide.
