Free TikTok Ad Library Search
Type a brand name. Find out whether their TikTok ads are live and read the script of the newest one, word for word. Built for the hour before you brief your next round of short-form creative.
The TikTok ad library is TikTok's public record of ads on the platform. Give this free search an advertiser name and it comes back with three things: live or not, a count of the ads on this page of results, and the full wording of their newest creative. On TikTok the script is the ad, so that wording is the part worth having.
Results come from TikTok's public ad library, which anyone can browse without a TikTok account. Coverage is not guaranteed to be complete: an advertiser may appear under a different name, run in a market the library does not surface, or have no live ads at the moment you search. The free result returns one page of ads, not an advertiser's full history, and never includes spend, impressions or targeting. TikTok, TikTok Creative Center and the TikTok Commercial Content Library are trademarks of their respective owner. 1Lookup is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by TikTok or ByteDance.

What the TikTok ad library actually shows you
The TikTok ad library is where you go to answer one question: what is this brand actually saying in feed. Type an advertiser name above and you get back whether they have ads running, how many came back in this page of results, and the wording of the most recent one. That wording is the useful part. On TikTok the script is the ad, so reading a competitor's opening line tells you more than any dashboard metric would.
Researching TikTok ads is not the same job as researching Meta ads. On Meta you are mostly reverse engineering an audience: who is being targeted, which offer, which static. On TikTok the creative carries almost all of the weight. The same product sells or dies on the first two seconds, the sound choice, and whether the video reads as a person talking or as an ad. So the thing worth stealing from a competitor is not their targeting. It is their hook.
Two TikTok resources get confused constantly. TikTok Creative Center is an inspiration showcase: a curated slice of high performing ads, plus trending sounds and hashtags, useful for ideas but never a complete record of one advertiser. The Commercial Content Library is the transparency archive, and its paid ads coverage is centered on Europe, so a US only advertiser can look thin or absent there. This tool reads the public ad library by advertiser name, which is the fastest way to check one specific competitor rather than browse.
How to search the TikTok ad library
Type the advertiser name
Ad libraries index the account a brand advertises under, so type the brand as it appears on its ads, not its @handle and not its domain: Gymshark, not gymshark.com. If the brand is owned by a larger group, its ads may be filed under the parent company name instead.
We read TikTok's ad library
Your search hits TikTok's ad library and pulls what is listed under that advertiser. Free stops at three fields: live or not, the count on this page of results, and the newest creative in full.
Read it as a creative brief, not a report
The output is a brief, not a report. Log the newest creative from three or four competitors, put them side by side, and the shape of what the category is doing shows up before you write a single script.
Built for a creative sprint, not a dashboard
No filters to configure, no ad account to log into, no feed to scroll. The answer comes back in the shape a creative brief needs it: this brand is running ads today, and here is exactly what they are saying.
The actual ad wording, not a summary
You get the creative text as published, so you can read the hook, the claim and the call to action in the advertiser's own words. Paste it into your swipe doc and the phrasing survives, which a screenshot of a video does not.
Landing pages and run dates on the full record
Signed in, each ad also carries its landing page and its first-seen and last-seen dates. Those two fields are how you tell a two week test from an evergreen winner, and where a competitor is sending TikTok traffic once the video does its job.
A miss costs you nothing
Plenty of brands you check will not be advertising on TikTok, and that is a real finding. On the API a search that returns no ads is billed at zero credits, so building a watchlist of forty competitors does not punish you for the thirty that are quiet.
Who uses this tool
Briefing a batch of UGC videos
Before you write scripts for creators, pull the live ads from four or five competitors and list their hooks side by side. You will see which angles the category is saturated on and which one nobody has tried yet.
Checking whether a channel is worth testing
If nobody in your category is running TikTok ads, that is either a gap or a graveyard. Search the five brands closest to you before you commit budget, and you have evidence instead of a hunch about whether the channel works here.
Auditing what an agency says it is running
A freelancer or agency tells you TikTok is handled. Search the brand name and see whether ads are actually live and what the current script says. Two minutes of checking, and the next call is a different conversation.
Watching a launch in real time
When a rival launches a product, their TikTok ads change within days. Re-run the same advertiser name each week and the new creative text tells you the positioning they settled on, sometimes before their own website catches up.
Frequently asked questions
What is the TikTok ad library?
It is TikTok's public listing of the ads brands are paying to run, indexed by the advertiser behind them. It exists so anyone can check what a company is putting in front of people. Type a brand name here and you skip the browsing: live or not, the count on this page, and the newest script in full.
Is TikTok Creative Center the same as the TikTok ad library?
No. Creative Center is TikTok's inspiration hub: a curated set of top performing ads plus trending sounds, hashtags and formats. It is built to give you ideas, not a full account of one advertiser. The ad library is the record side. If you want 'show me everything brand X is running', the library is where you look, and that is what this tool searches.
What is the TikTok Commercial Content Library?
It is TikTok's transparency database of commercial content, including paid ads and, separately, branded organic posts. Its paid ad coverage is centered on the European Economic Area, which is the practical catch: a brand that only advertises in the US can look empty there while running plenty of ads. Search by advertiser name instead of assuming one archive covers every market.
Can I see a competitor's TikTok ad video, not just the text?
No. This returns the ad's written creative, its landing page and its dates, not the video file, the thumbnail or the audio. You get the script level information: hook, claim, offer. To watch the actual execution you still open TikTok. Most people find the text is what they needed, because the words are the part you can adapt.
Why does this brand show no TikTok ads when I know they advertise?
Three usual reasons. The advertiser name you typed does not match the name on the account, so try the legal entity or the short brand name. The ads run in a market the public library does not surface. Or it runs as a Spark Ad on a creator's post, which may not surface under the brand name you searched. A blank result means 'nothing found under this name', not 'they never advertise'.
How do I read a competitor's TikTok ad?
Split it into three: hook, format, offer. The hook is the first line and it is doing most of the work, because a TikTok viewer decides in about two seconds. The format is how it is built, talking head, demo, skit, stitch. The offer is what they ask for at the end. Log those three for every competitor ad and patterns appear fast.
Do I need a TikTok account or Ads Manager access to search?
Neither. The library is public, so there is no login, no business account and no ad spend of your own required to read what other brands are running. What you will not find in it is their spend, impressions or targeting, on any platform: ad libraries publish the creative, not the media plan.
Should I copy a competitor's hook word for word?
No, and not because of the ethics. Your audience sees both ads in the same feed, and the second one always reads as the copy. Take the structure instead: what tension the first line names, how fast the product appears, what the last line asks for. A structure you have understood survives being said in your own words. A line you have lifted does not.
How many TikTok ad searches can I run for free?
Five searches a day on this tool. Fifteen a day if you use the other free tools too. One IP address, short pause between requests. That covers one pass over a competitive set. Auditing forty brands, or re-running the same list every week, is what the free account is for: 1,000 lookups across a seven-day trial, plus CSV upload.
