How to view a LinkedIn profile without logging in
LinkedIn does two things that send people looking for a profile viewer. It puts a sign-in wall in front of most profile links, so a link from an email or a search result lands on a login screen after a moment, and it tells members who viewed their profile, so looking someone up while signed in leaves a trace with your name on it. Most people searching for a LinkedIn profile viewer want to read a public profile without either. Paste the profile address into the box above and you get the name, headline, current role, location and follower count, with nothing to sign in to and no view recorded against you.
What comes back is the public profile, the version LinkedIn shows to visitors who are not signed in and to search engines. Every member controls how much of their profile is public, from the whole thing down to nothing, and the result here respects that: a profile its owner has closed to visitors returns not found, and the sections a member has left off their public profile are not read from anywhere else. The connection count is left off on purpose, because LinkedIn itself only ever shows 500+ past that mark, and the follower count, which LinkedIn does publish, is shown instead.
When we looked up linkedin.com/in/williamhgates on 17 September 2026, the lookup returned Bill Gates, his headline, his current role as co-chair of the Gates Foundation, Seattle as his location and 40,659,136 followers. Read the rows together: the headline is how the person describes themselves, the current role is what their experience section says they do now, and the follower count shows how many people chose to see what they post, which for most members is close to their connection count and for public figures runs far past it.
What this tool will not do: it does not show a profile's About section, full work history, education, skills, contact details, posts or activity, it does not tell you who someone's connections are, and it cannot open a profile its owner has made private. It is a way to read the top of a public profile without a LinkedIn login. It is not a way to research a private individual, and the disclaimer at the bottom of the page means what it says.
How to check a LinkedIn profile in three steps
Copy the profile address
Every LinkedIn profile has an address of the form linkedin.com/in/name, where the name is the custom URL the member chose or the one LinkedIn assigned. Paste the whole address, or type just the part after linkedin.com/in/. A person's name is not a profile address and will not work: search LinkedIn or Google for the person to find the address first.
We read the public profile
The lookup fetches the profile's public page, the version LinkedIn shows to visitors who are not signed in, and reads the name, headline, current role, location and follower count off it. No LinkedIn account is used, which is why the profile's owner never sees a view.
Read the result
The headline and current role tell you what the person does, the location where, and the follower count how many people listen. Create a free account when you also want the full experience and education history, the About section, skills and the connection count.

No login wall
LinkedIn asks most visitors to sign in before it shows a profile. This viewer never signs in to LinkedIn, so there is nothing to log in to, no account to create and no app to install.
Never in Who viewed your profile
LinkedIn shows members who looked at their profile while signed in. This lookup is not a signed-in visit, so the profile's owner sees nothing, and you do not need LinkedIn's private browsing mode to read a public profile quietly.
The public profile, as its owner set it
Every member chooses what their public profile shows. The result reads that version and nothing else, so a profile closed to visitors returns not found and a section the member left off is not filled in from somewhere else.
A follower count, not a 500+
LinkedIn shows connections as 500+ past that mark, which says nothing about a person with 500 connections or 50,000 followers. The result gives you the follower count LinkedIn publishes, which is a real number at any size.

You have a name and a profile link from an email signature and you want their current role before you talk, without leaving a view on their profile the day before the meeting.
Confirming a recruiter or a contact is real
A message arrives from someone claiming to be a recruiter at a company. Look up the profile address they gave: a real profile shows a headline, a current role at that company and followers, and a shell made last week usually shows almost nothing.
Reading a profile without a LinkedIn account

Can I see the profile picture?
Yes, when the profile shows one publicly. It is loaded from LinkedIn's own servers, so it is the current picture, and it opens full size in a new tab. Nothing else from the profile is read beyond the header the public page shows.
Can I view a LinkedIn profile without an account?
Yes, for public profiles. Paste the profile address here and you get the name, headline, current role, location and follower count. You do not need a LinkedIn account or a 1Lookup account to run a lookup. A profile whose owner has closed it to visitors who are not signed in returns not found.
Will the person know I viewed their LinkedIn profile?
No. LinkedIn records profile views made by signed-in members, and this lookup is not a signed-in visit: it reads the public profile page the way a search engine does. Nothing appears in the person's Who viewed your profile list, and no connection request, follow or notification is created.
Can I look someone up by name?
No. The tool takes a profile address, the part after linkedin.com/in/, because names are not unique and we will not guess which of several people you mean. Find the profile on LinkedIn or through a search engine first, then paste its address here.
Can I see a private LinkedIn profile with this?
No, and nothing legitimate can. LinkedIn lets every member decide how much of their profile is public, down to nothing, and a profile closed to visitors who are not signed in returns not found here. The only way to see it is to sign in to LinkedIn, where LinkedIn's own rules and your visible profile view apply.
Why doesn't it show the connection count?
Because LinkedIn itself shows connections as 500+ past that mark, and the lookup's figure has come back implausibly small on well-known profiles, so we leave it off the free result rather than show a number we do not trust. The follower count, which LinkedIn publishes exactly, is shown instead.
Does it show the About section, experience or contact details?
The free result shows the headline, the current role and the location. The About section, the full experience and education history and the skills list are part of the paid LinkedIn Profile Lookup, unlocked with a free account. Contact details are never returned by this tool.
Why is the current role different from the headline?
Because they are two different fields. The headline is a line the member writes freely and can say anything; the current role is the most recent entry in their experience section. When they disagree, the experience entry is usually the more literal one.
Why did my lookup return nothing?
Usually the address is wrong or the profile is closed. Copy the part after linkedin.com/in/ from the profile's address bar: a person's name will not work, and members can change their custom address, so an old link can stop working. A profile whose owner turned off public visibility returns nothing, and so does a company page, which lives at linkedin.com/company/ and is not looked up here.
How fresh is the result?
A profile nobody has checked here in the past seven days is read live. If it was looked up in the last seven days, you get that earlier read instead, so a headline or role can be up to a week old. A lookup takes a few seconds.
How many LinkedIn profiles can I check for free?
Five a day from one IP address on this tool, with a short pause between lookups, and 15 a day across all the free tools on the site.
