Free Snapchat Profile Viewer

A Snapchat profile viewer shows a public profile's numbers without the Snapchat app or an account. Enter a Snapchat username and 1Lookup's free viewer returns the display name, the bio and the subscriber count, when the profile's owner has chosen to show it. It reads public profiles only: it does not show Snaps, Stories, friends lists or anything from a personal account.

Subscribers

Snapchat publishes subscriber counts rounded (3.59M, not the exact figure), so a big number here carries Snapchat's rounding and the exact count is somewhere near it.

See the same username on nine other networks

The free result is the public profile as Snapchat shows it: display name, bio and subscriber count. A free account adds the same username checked on nine other networks in one call, plus 1,000 lookups and CSV upload, so you can check a whole list of Snapchat creators in one go instead of one username at a time.

This tool reads public Snapchat profile information only. It cannot look up personal accounts, it does not show Snaps, Stories, Snap Scores, friends lists or messages, and it shows no contact details. Do not use it to monitor or harass anyone. Snapchat is a trademark of Snap Inc. 1Lookup is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Snapchat or Snap Inc.

Snapchat profile viewer showing a public profile's subscriber count and display name, read without a Snapchat account

How to see a Snapchat profile without an account

Snapchat is built around the app, and it shows almost nothing about a user to anyone outside it. Personal accounts have no public page at all; the only Snapchat profiles you can read from a browser are public profiles, the kind creators, brands, teams and public figures set up so that people can subscribe to their Stories. Most people who look for a Snapchat profile viewer want the numbers on one of those, without installing the app or making an account to get them. Type the username into the box above and you get the display name, the bio and the subscriber count.

Subscribers are Snapchat's followers. Anyone can subscribe to a public profile, and the count is the one public measure of its size, but Snapchat leaves it to each profile's owner whether the number is shown at all. A creator can turn the count on or off in their profile settings, and the largest profiles have it on by default. When a profile hides its count, the result here says so rather than showing zero, because zero subscribers on a profile with millions would be a wrong answer.

When we looked up nba on 17 September 2026, the lookup returned the NBA's public profile with 3,590,800 subscribers. That is Snapchat's rounded figure written out in full: Snapchat publishes large counts abbreviated, so the exact number is somewhere near it, and smaller profiles usually come back exact. Public profiles also carry a display name and a bio, and the display name comes back with the count.

What this tool will not do: it does not show Snaps, Stories, Spotlight videos, Snap Scores, friends lists or anything from a personal account, and it cannot look up a personal account at all, because Snapchat publishes nothing about one. Be wary of any site that claims to show someone's Snaps or friends, and especially of one that asks for your Snapchat login.

How to check a Snapchat profile in three steps

1

Copy the username

The username is the part after snapchat.com/add/ in a profile link, and the name shown under the display name on a public profile. Type it with or without an @, or paste the profile link and we pull the username out of it. The display name is not unique and will not work.

2

We read the public profile

The lookup fetches the profile's public Snapchat page, the one that opens in a browser without the app, and reads the display name and the subscriber count off it. Nothing is estimated, and no Snapchat account of yours is involved at any point.

3

Read the result

The subscriber count shows the profile's reach, and a hidden count is reported as hidden. Create a free account when you also want a whole list of profiles checked at once.

Public profiles and personal accounts on Snapchat

Why some usernames return nothing: Snapchat has two kinds of account, and only one has anything a browser can read.

Account typeWho has itReadable here
Public profileCreators, brands, teams and public figures who set one up; anyone can subscribeYes: display name and subscriber count, when shown
Personal accountEveryone else; Snaps and Stories go to friends onlyNo: Snapchat publishes nothing about it

Snapchat username rules

Why a lookup can miss: the rules Snapchat's Support site sets for usernames, which are what this tool searches on.

RuleWhat Snapchat allows
Length3 to 15 characters
CharactersLetters and numbers, plus at most one period, underscore or hyphen
First characterMust be a letter
ChangesOnce a year, so an old username can stop working
Display nameNot unique, and not what this tool searches

No Snapchat account, no app

There is nothing to install and nothing to connect. The lookup never signs in to Snapchat as you, so you do not need an account and nothing you look up is attached to one.

The subscriber count, when it is shown

Snapchat leaves it to each creator whether the subscriber count is public. The result gives you the count when it is on, and tells you it is hidden when it is off, rather than showing a zero that reads as an empty profile.

Public profiles only, by design

Snapchat publishes nothing about a personal account, and this tool reads nothing from one. A personal username returns not found, which is the honest answer, and no site that claims otherwise is telling you the truth.

A display name to check against

The display name comes back with the count, so you can check that the username you were given really belongs to the creator or brand you expected before you subscribe or pay for a post.

Who uses this tool

Vetting a creator before a paid Story

A media kit is a screenshot, and screenshots age. Check the live subscriber count before you agree a fee, and ask why a creator's count is hidden when they are selling you their reach.

Checking a profile without the app

Someone sent you a Snapchat username and you do not use the app. Check whether it belongs to an established public profile or nothing at all, from a browser tab, without installing anything.

Finding the real brand profile

Brands and teams run public profiles, and copies borrow their names. Look up the username you were given: a subscriber count in the millions marks the real one, and a copy usually returns nothing.

Screening Snapchat handles in applications

Creator programs ask applicants for a Snapchat username beside the others. One lookup shows whether a public profile exists under it and how big it is, before anyone approves the application.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see the bio and profile picture?

The bio comes back with the subscriber count, as the public profile shows it. The profile picture is shown when the lookup returns one, which it does not for every public profile; when it does, it is loaded from Snapchat's own servers and opens full size in a new tab.

Can I view a Snapchat profile without an account?

Yes, for public profiles. Enter the username here and you get the display name and the subscriber count, when the owner shows it. You do not need a Snapchat account, the app or a 1Lookup account to run a lookup. Personal accounts have no public profile, so they return nothing.

Can I see someone's Snaps, Stories or friends with this?

No, and nothing legitimate can. Snaps and Stories from a personal account go to that person's friends only, and even a public profile's Stories play inside Snapchat. This tool reads the two numbers a public profile publishes and nothing else.

Why does the result say the subscriber count is hidden?

Because the profile's owner has not turned on the setting that shows it. Snapchat lets each public profile choose whether its subscriber count is visible, and when it is off there is no number for anyone to read. The profile still exists; only the count is private.

Why is the subscriber count a round number?

Because Snapchat publishes large counts abbreviated. A profile shown as 3.59M subscribers comes back as 3,590,800, and the real count is somewhere near that figure. Smaller profiles usually come back exact.

Does it show whether a profile is verified?

Not yet. Snapchat marks some public profiles as Snap Stars with a black star, and the lookup behind this tool does not return that mark, so the row is left off rather than guessed. Open the profile on Snapchat to see it.

Will the profile owner know I looked?

No. Snapchat tells a user who viewed their Story, but this tool never opens a Story and never signs in to Snapchat as you, so there is nothing for Snapchat to record. Nothing is sent to the profile and no subscription or notification is created.

Why did my lookup return nothing?

Most often because the username belongs to a personal account, which has no public profile to read. Otherwise the username is wrong: the display name is not the username, and usernames can be changed once a year. Copy the part after snapchat.com/add/ from a profile link instead.

How fresh are the numbers?

A username nobody has checked here in the past seven days is read live. If it was looked up in the last seven days, you get that earlier read instead, so a number can be up to a week old.

How many Snapchat profiles can I check for free?

Five a day from one IP address on this tool, with a short pause between lookups, and 15 a day across all the free tools on the site. The free tools also share a daily budget, so on a busy day a lookup can be refused until midnight UTC. A free 1Lookup account gives you 1,000 lookups on a 7-day trial and CSV upload for whole lists.

Is this tool made by Snapchat?

No. 1Lookup is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Snapchat or Snap Inc. The tool reads information that Snapchat already publishes on each public profile.
