What happens when a country's tax service is down?
Vatstack accepts the request, schedules a retry and posts the result to your webhook when it arrives. 1Lookup retries the check once and, if the country still does not answer, returns a retry-later response at no charge. The answer is never saved as not valid, and other countries keep working.
Does Vatstack check Great Britain and countries outside the EU?
Yes. Vatstack validates Great Britain, Norway, Switzerland, Australia and Singapore numbers as well as EU numbers and EORI numbers. 1Lookup checks the 27 EU member states and Northern Ireland (prefix XI). A Great Britain number is refused with a plain explanation at no charge.
