FCC seeks comment on a public scorecard grading voice providers on illegal robocall protection
The FCC is seeking comment on a proposed Robocall Mitigation Scorecard that would publicly rate voice service providers on how effectively they protect customers from illegal robocalls. It would apply to domestic wireless, wireline and VoIP providers with retail customers, including hybrid networks, but not to wholesale or intermediate providers.
Why it matters: If your business relies on a VoIP or wireline provider to originate calls or texts, a public grade on that provider's robocall mitigation could affect deliverability and how carriers treat your traffic going forward.
