Add a free call reports checker to your website.

Paste three lines into any page, and your readers can type a phone number and see how many reports the FTC has for it, what the calls were reported for, and when the latest report was made. It is free, it needs no account, and it runs on the FTC's public data.

  • ✓ Counts for the last 12 months, with the date they run to
  • ✓ Says plainly that the reports are not verified and caller numbers can be spoofed
  • ✓ No cookies, nothing stored in the browser, no account

Call report checker by 1Lookup

It takes three lines of code and about a minute to add.

  1. Pick a size above: 300 pixels for a sidebar, 420 for an article, or full width.
  2. Copy the code with the button.
  3. Paste it where the box should appear: a WordPress Custom HTML block, a Squarespace Code block, a Wix Embed HTML element, or straight into your HTML.
  4. To open the box on one number, add data-number="2125550142" to the div.

These are the questions site owners ask about the widget.

Is the call reports widget free?

Yes. There is no account and no key. To keep it fast for everyone, each visitor address can make a limited number of checks a minute and a day, far more than a reader needs.

Does the widget set cookies or track my readers?

No. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in the reader's browser. When a reader checks a number, their browser sends that number to 1lookup.io to get the answer. Our daily counts hold totals, not numbers.

Where do the reports come from?

From the FTC's public Do Not Call reported calls data: reports people made to the FTC about unwanted calls. We keep a copy and add each new day once the FTC publishes it. Every answer in the box says how recent the counts are.

Does the box say whether a number is good or bad?

No. It shows how many reports were made, what the callers were reported for, and the date of the latest one. The FTC does not verify these reports, and caller numbers can be spoofed. The box says so under every answer.

Will the widget slow my page down?

The script loads with async, so your page draws first and the box appears once it arrives. It is one small file, and nothing else is requested until a reader presses the button.

Can the box open on one number?

Yes. Add data-number="2125550142" to the div, and the box shows that number's answer when the page loads.

Which website builders does it work with?

Any page that accepts custom HTML: a WordPress Custom HTML block, a Squarespace Code block, a Wix Embed HTML element, or a plain HTML page.

Do I have to keep the credit line?

No. The third line is an optional credit link to 1Lookup. Keep it or delete it, the box works the same.
