At a glance

Here is where 1Lookup wins against VeriRoute Intel, and where VeriRoute Intel still wins.

Both can answer a phone number with a complaint count. VeriRoute Intel is a prepaid wallet with no subscription: a minimum funding of $5, a free test key that returns sample data and one price per lookup, with routing, caller name and messaging data on the same account, and a trust response that carries a count, subjects and flags such as is_robocall and is_scam. 1Lookup returns the FTC's counts as one finished answer: the number of reports, the recorded-message share, the subjects with their counts, a count for each month and the latest report date, billed per number with reports from a balance that also pays for phone, email and IP checks.

1Lookup logo1lookupWhere 1Lookup wins
  • The count for each month, the recorded-message share, the subjects with counts and the latest report date come back in one answer, with the FTC named as the source and the day the count starts from
  • A number with no reports, a number outside the US and Canada and a check 1Lookup cannot answer yet cost nothing, where a price per lookup is paid on every request
  • A CSV with a phone column returns one row per number, and the same key and balance also pay for phone, email and IP validation
  • Credits roll over for 3 months, so a quiet month is not lost

What it costs

From $4.00

per 1,000 number lookups; $9.90 on Starter

VeriRoute Intel logoWhere VeriRoute Intel wins
  • Pay as you go with no subscription: a $5 minimum wallet and $0.0070 per Spam Detection lookup, so a small test costs a few dollars (arithmetic: 1,000 lookups are $7.00).
  • A free test key on every endpoint returns sample responses, so the integration can be wired before any money is added.
  • The wallet also pays for LRN, Enhanced LRN, CNAM and Messaging lookups, so routing and caller name data come from the same account.
  • The trust response carries flags beyond the count: is_spam, is_robocall, is_scam and a spam_type, and its v2 adds a 0 to 100 reputation_score and a trust_level.

What it costs

$5 minimum wallet funding, then $0.0070 per Spam Detection lookup

Short answer

VeriRoute Intel's pricing page prints Spam Detection at $0.0070 per lookup from a prepaid wallet, with a $5 minimum and no monthly subscription, which is $7.00 per 1,000 lookups. 1Lookup's Reported Number Check costs 2 credits per number with reports, $9.90 per 1,000 on Starter, so VeriRoute Intel is cheaper per lookup. 1Lookup adds up the months and the recorded-message share, names the FTC as the source and bills nothing for a number with no reports.

What replaces what

Here is which 1Lookup product matches each VeriRoute Intel job.

VeriRoute Intel draws each lookup from a prepaid wallet at a fixed price. This is a different unit on 1Lookup: one phone number, billed in credits from a monthly balance only when the FTC's data holds a report for it, and nothing for a number with no reports, a number outside the US and Canada or a check that cannot be answered yet.

Side by side

Both products are measured on the same criteria, using VeriRoute Intel's own published numbers.

Questions

People ask these questions before they switch from VeriRoute Intel.

What does VeriRoute Intel return for a phone number?

Its trust response lists a complaint_count and subjects, plus flags: is_spam, is_robocall, is_scam and a spam_type. The v1 sample also shows first_reported and last_reported dates and a details line reading 'FTC DNC complaints: 2', and the v2 sample adds a 0 to 100 reputation_score, a trust_level and last_updated. The docs do not define complaint_count and print no look-back window. Checked October 2026.

How does VeriRoute Intel pricing work?

A prepaid wallet with no subscription: 'Minimum wallet funding is $5', and the page says there is no auto-refill and no subscriptions. Spam Detection is $0.0070 per lookup, and each selected product adds its per-number cost. A free test key works on every endpoint and returns realistic sample responses for fixed magic numbers, for $0 and with no card; real data needs a funded wallet. Checked October 2026.

How much does 1Lookup charge for a reported number check?

2 credits per number with reports, free when the number has no reports. On the Starter plan ($99 a month for 20,000 credits) a number is about $0.010, which covers 10,000 numbers a month and is $9.90 per 1,000. At the Enterprise end of the rate card it is about $0.004.

Is 1Lookup cheaper than VeriRoute Intel per lookup?

No. VeriRoute Intel's $0.0070 a lookup is $7.00 per 1,000 (arithmetic on the printed price), against $9.90 per 1,000 on 1Lookup Starter and $4.00 on Enterprise. 1Lookup bills only the numbers that have reports.

What does each one return?

VeriRoute Intel returns a count, the subjects and flags for a number, and in its v1 sample the first and last report dates. 1Lookup returns the FTC's counts finished: the number of reports, how many said a recorded message or robocall and their share, the subjects with counts, a count for each month, the latest report date, the day the count starts from and the day the data runs to. It has no spam or scam flag and no score.

Where do the numbers come from?

1Lookup names its source in every answer: the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Do Not Call reported calls data, with the day the count starts from. VeriRoute Intel's v1 sample cites 'FTC DNC complaints', and its docs describe reputation scoring as drawing on public complaint data, aggregated reports, consumer feedback and proprietary models; they do not define complaint_count or give a window. Whichever you use, the FTC says none of the information about the reported calls is verified, and caller numbers can be spoofed.

Where does VeriRoute Intel beat 1Lookup?

On price per lookup ($7.00 per 1,000 against $9.90 on 1Lookup Starter), on how it is bought (a $5 prepaid wallet and no subscription, with a free test key to wire the integration first) and on adjacent data: LRN, Enhanced LRN, CNAM and messaging lookups from the same wallet, and flags for robocall, spam and scam. 1Lookup returns the FTC's counts only.

What happens when a number has no reports?

1Lookup bills nothing for a number the FTC data holds no report for, and the answer says so. VeriRoute Intel charges a price per lookup.

What is the best VeriRoute Intel alternative?

If you want to pay as you go from a small wallet, test with a free key, or buy routing and caller name data from the same account, VeriRoute Intel is the better fit. If you want the FTC's counts finished, with the months, the recorded-message share and the latest report date added up, and nothing billed for a number with no reports, 1Lookup's Reported Number Check bills 2 credits for every number with reports.

Is VeriRoute Intel worth it in 2026?

Yes if you want flags and a score next to routing data with no subscription and a cost you can see per lookup. If you check a few thousand numbers a month and want the FTC's counts by month without adding them up, compare the per-number price of 1Lookup.
