Area code lookup by 1Lookup
It takes two lines of code and about a minute to add.
- Pick a size above: 300 pixels for a sidebar, 420 for an article, or full width.
- Copy the code with the button.
- Paste it where the box should appear: a WordPress Custom HTML block, a Squarespace Code block, a Wix Embed HTML element, or straight into your HTML.
- To open the box on one code, add
data-code="805"to the div.
These are the questions site owners ask about the widget.
Is the area code widget free?
Yes. There is no account, no key and no limit on lookups. The box runs on our own copy of the numbering plan data, so a lookup costs nothing.
Does the widget set cookies or track my readers?
No. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in the browser and loads nothing else. Once the script has loaded, every lookup happens in the reader's browser.
Where does the area code data come from?
From NANPA, the North American Numbering Plan Administrator: its area code database and prefix assignments, as of October 1, 2026. Every box loads the current copy from 1lookup.io, so when we refresh the data your page updates on its own.
Will the widget slow my page down?
The script loads with async, so your page draws first and the box appears once it arrives. It is one small file with no other requests behind it.
Can the box open on one area code?
Yes. Add data-code="805" to the div, and the box shows 805 when the page loads. That suits an article about one area code or a new overlay.
Which website builders does it work with?
Any page that accepts custom HTML: a WordPress Custom HTML block, a Squarespace Code block, a Wix Embed HTML element, or a plain HTML page.
Do I have to keep the credit line?
No. The third line is an optional credit link to 1Lookup. Keep it or delete it, the box works the same.
