Free Website Traffic Checker

A website traffic checker estimates how many people visit a site each month. This free tool shows the latest month's visits, the change over three months, the global rank, the bounce rate and the visit length for any domain. The figures are monthly estimates, and a free trial adds traffic sources, countries and search keywords.

  • No signup needed
  • Latest full month
  • Rank and trend included

Need this at scale? Website Traffic Checker API

Check a whole list of sites: monthly visits, trend, ranks, traffic sources, top countries and top search keywords, at 3 credits per site that has data.

A site's monthly visits tell you how big it is and which way it is heading.

Enter a domain and the tool returns the estimated visits for the latest full month, the change over the last three months with a clear up, down or flat, and the site's rank worldwide and in its biggest country. It adds the site's category, the bounce rate, the pages people view per visit and how long a visit lasts.

Every number is a monthly estimate for the whole domain, not for a single page, so it is best used to compare sites and to see direction. A bare domain, a www address and a full page link all check the same site, so paste whatever you copied. A check usually takes 5 to 15 seconds, and to keep the tool free for everyone, a site that someone checked in the last a day is shown again.

Very small and brand-new sites often have no data yet, and the tool says so. A free trial adds where the visits come from (search, direct, social, referrals and AI chatbots), the top countries, the top search keywords with their monthly searches and cost per click, and the month-by-month history.

Traffic is one measure of a site, and strength and age are two more.

To see how strong a site's backlinks are, use the free domain authority checker. To see how old a site is, use the free domain age checker. To check whether a site is a real business before you rely on its numbers, try the free website legitimacy checker.

A traffic check returns these fields, and each one answers a different question.

This is an invented result for a made-up website, laid out the way a real one comes back. The headline numbers are free on this page, and a free trial opens the rest.

  1. Visits last month

The estimated visits to the whole domain in the latest full month. Use it to compare sites, not as an exact count.

  2. Change over 3 months

How the visits moved over the last three months. Up, down or flat tells you the direction.

  3. Global rank

The site's place among all websites by visits. A lower number is a bigger site.

  4. Rank in United States

The same ranking inside the site's biggest country, which is where most of its visitors are.

  5. Bounce rate

The share of visits that leave after one page. A high number can mean visitors found what they came for or left at once.

  6. Average visit length

How long a typical visit lasts, in minutes and seconds.

  7. Traffic by source

How the visits arrive, including how many come from an AI chatbot's answer.

  8. Top search keywords

The searches that bring people to the site, and what each search is worth to advertisers.

Checking a site's traffic takes three steps and no signup.

1

Enter a website

Type example.com, www.example.com or a full page link. All of them check the same site.

2

We look up its traffic record

The latest full month and the two before it are read, usually in 5 to 15 seconds.

3

Read the numbers

You see the visits, the three-month change and trend, the ranks, the bounce rate, pages per visit and visit length. Sources, countries and keywords are in the free trial.

One check looks up a site's traffic record and turns it into a handful of numbers.

This is the path a single check takes. Your visit is not reported to the site you check.

What one traffic check does
  1. You enter a websiteA bare domain, a www address or a full page link.
  2. Its traffic record is looked upVisits for the latest full month and the two months before it.Nothing is sent to the site, so its owner is never told.
  3. The change and the trend are worked outUp, down or flat over three months, with the ranks beside it.
  4. You see the headline numbersVisits, trend, ranks, bounce rate, pages per visit and visit length.

The website traffic API returns the same numbers as JSON from one request.

Send a domain to the endpoint with your API key. A site that has traffic data costs 3 credits and a site with no data costs 0. The headline numbers are in classification, and the sources, countries, keywords and history are in insights.website_traffic_result.

For whole lists of sites from a CSV file, and the full report for each, see our Website Traffic Checker API.

You get the trend, not only a number.

The change over the last three months comes with a clear up, down or flat, so you can see which way a site is heading.

Two ranks put the visits in context.

The global rank and the rank in the site's biggest country show how a site compares with every other.

How people behave on the site is included.

The bounce rate, the pages per visit and the length of a visit show whether visitors stay and look around.

Every spelling of a site checks the same site.

A bare domain, a www address and a full page link are all reduced to the domain, so one site is one check.

Frequently asked questions

Is this website traffic checker free?

Yes, with no signup. Each visitor gets a few checks a day. A free trial adds the traffic sources, the top countries, the search keywords and the month-by-month history, and checks whole lists of sites.

How accurate are the visit numbers?

They are monthly estimates for the whole domain. Use them to compare sites and to see direction, not as an exact count. Only a site's own analytics hold its exact figures.

Can I check a single page?

No. The report is for the whole domain. A bare domain, a www address and a full page link all check the same site.

Why does a site show no data?

Very small and brand-new sites often have no data yet. The tool says so in plain words. Try again later or check another site.

How fresh is the data?

The figures are for the latest full month. A check takes 5 to 15 seconds, and a site that someone checked in the last a day is shown again.

Does it show visits from AI chatbots?

Yes, in a free trial. The traffic sources list AI chatbots next to direct, search, social and referrals, each as a share of the visits.

Can I check a list of sites at once?

Yes, in a free trial. Upload a CSV with a domain column or call the Website Traffic Checker API. Each site with data costs 3 credits, and a site without data costs nothing.
