A place's newest reviews show what customers are saying this month.
Open the business on Google Maps, choose Share and paste the link it gives you, or paste a Google place ID that starts with ChIJ. The tool reads the newest reviews and shows the place's name, address and overall rating, the average of the reviews it read, how many were one or two stars, and how many got a reply from the owner.
Below that you see the first few reviews with the star rating, the text, the date and the reviewer's first name and initial. A lookup usually takes 5 to 12 seconds, and to keep the tool free for everyone, a place that someone looked up in the last six hours is shown again.
A link to a search results page does not name one place and is refused with a message. A free trial reads up to 100 reviews in the order you choose, with the owner's replies in full and the topics reviewers mention most, and exports whole lists of places.
Reviews are what customers say, and the news and the website tell you the rest.
To see what the press is saying about a business, search the free Google news search. To see how many people visit a business's website, use the free website traffic checker.
A reviews lookup returns these fields, and each one answers a different question.
This is an invented result for a made-up cafe, laid out the way a real one comes back. The numbers and the first reviews are free on this page, and a free trial opens the rest.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Google account or a Google Cloud key?
No. You paste a link and read the reviews. There is no login, no key to apply for and nothing to install.
What do I paste, a link or a place ID?
Either. Open the business on Google Maps, choose Share and paste the link, or paste a Google place ID that starts with ChIJ. A link to a search results page does not name one place and is refused.
How many reviews does it show?
The first three of the newest reviews, with the numbers for all the reviews it read. A free trial reads up to 100, in the order you choose.
Why are reviewer names shortened?
Because this page is open to everyone with no account. Names are shortened to a first name and an initial.
Does it show the owner's replies?
This page shows how many reviews got a reply and marks the ones that did. The replies themselves are in the free trial.
How fresh are the reviews?
They are read when you ask, usually in 5 to 12 seconds. A place that someone looked up in the last six hours is shown again.
Can I export a list of places at once?
Yes, in a free trial. Upload a CSV with a place on each row, or call the Google Reviews Export API. Each place that returns reviews costs 2 credits, and a place with no reviews costs nothing.
